RBA approves of broader bargaining agenda

Aldi's paid maternity leave first for grocery sector

In a first for grocery retailers, fast-growing Aldi Stores will from next week provide 14 weeks maternity leave on half pay to its 3,300 permanent employees, 60% of them women. Meanwhile, the shop union's leader, Joe de Bruyn, says Myer's new paid maternity leave entitlement will put pressure on David Jones to go down the same track during its current bargaining negotiations.


Myer introduces paid parental leave

National retailer Myer has taken the lead in its sector on paid parental leave, today introducing a six-week benefit for its 10,000 permanent employees.
