Thomson's trial starts Monday

Former HSU national secretary Craig Thomson's criminal trial arising from alleged unauthorised expenditure of union funds will kick off in the Victorian Magistrates Court on December 2, with Victoria Police about to add 50 charges to his rap sheet to combat arguments that the existing 170 counts involve duplication and are difficult to understand.
