Senate Committee rejects private member Bills
The ALP, Coalition and Greens have joined forces to oppose independent Senator Nick Xenophon's bill exempting small business from penalty rates, while a more traditional ALP/Greens alliance has rejected Senator Eric Abetz's bill to toughen penalties for union officials, in two separate reports tabled in the Senate yesterday.
