No adverse action against volunteer firefighter: Court

A salesperson hauled over the coals after attending his first callout as a volunteer firefighter could not argue he was exercising a workplace right, because he failed to comply with his employer's instructions to attend only major emergencies and to notify his expected duration of leave, a court has ruled.
