Government to tighten car FBT exemption, cut senior APS numbers

Private use of employer-provided and salary-sacrificed cars will be subject to the fringe benefit tax from April next year, in one of a range of measures announced by the federal government this morning to fund its $3.8 billion decision to bring forward the shift from a carbon tax to an emissions trading scheme.
