Government to spend more on new IR regime, reveals how paid parental scheme will work

The Federal Government has allocated an additional $149.7m over four years to implement its new workplace relations scheme – including an expected increase in unfair dismissal claims - with Fair Work Australia, the Office of the Fair Work Ombudsman and the Workplace Authority to receive an extra $56.6m between them in the next financial year. In its second Budget since winning office in 2007, federal Labor has also revealed more details of its paid parental leave scheme and announced a further 25,400 cut in skilled migration numbers.
