FWC general manager Murray Furlong is seeking civil penalties in the Federal Court against HSU Victorian No 1 branch secretary Diana Asmar for allegedly receiving more than $120,000 in unwarranted reimbursements, signing-off on a payment of almost $3 million to a printing business for products and services the union never received, and pocketing "cashbacks" related to the printing, allegedly channelled through her spouse.
