The Productivity Commission's proposed paid parental leave scheme would require employers to bear $75m in superannuation contributions while employees are on leave and pay workers their parental leave entitlements before being "speedily" reimbursed. The proposal has already drawn fire from the ACCI, which says business owners would be unlikely to support a scheme that involved more red tape and required extra superannuation contributions.
