Catholics seek 4.5% safety net rise, or more to axe poverty

The Catholic Church's IR advisory body is urging the FWC's wage panel to order a 4.5% increase in the federal minimum wage, but says a rise of almost three times that would be required to lift single workers out of poverty, while a range of employer groups are seeking rises of about 2.5%.
