Bus dispute escalates as transit authority suspends driver allowance

The stakes are rising in a privatisation stoush between Sydney's public bus drivers and the NSW Government, with the State Transit Authority set to withdraw an "industry allowance" of almost $50 a week on the basis that drivers breached a dispute settlement clause in their award when they took industrial action.
