Bracks says car tariff cuts should go ahead, recommends $2.5b funding

The tariff cuts scheduled for 2010 should proceed but the Federal Government should set up a new $2.5 billion fund to assist the automotive industry until 2020, according to the long-awaited Bracks report on the sector - which also warns that more needs to be done to encourage high-performance workplaces and cost-competitive supply chains.
