Back to the future as tertiary funding linked to IR rules

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has unveiled a $243 million program for "trailblazer universities" that makes funding conditional on "industrial arrangements that promote a high-performance culture and support the achievement of commercial outcomes", while he has disparaged as uncommercial and anti-innovation the academic "publish or perish mindset" the current regime has fostered.
