AFPC says Government transfers to low-paid justify wage freeze

In its decision today to freeze minimum wage rates, the Fair Pay Commission has accepted that changes to taxes and transfer payments, plus the Government's economic stimulus payments, have provided "substantial" real increases in income for low-paid workers that have outpaced growth in living costs.
